After our time in Ireland we flew back to Kuwait to get settled in. We still had a couple of weeks before we had to be back at school to prepare for the new year so our plan was to head to Sri Lanka for a fun and relaxing vacation before the madness of teaching began. I know it may seem as if we already had a lot of vacations during the summer, but this one was truly meant to be a relaxing time near the beach!
We did spend some time touring some of the more notable sites that we had heard we must see, and we even got to ride an elephant through a forest, but many of our days were spent relaxing at a nice spot known as Jungle Beach. We met some wonderful people, foremost of which was a man named Jagath that drove us around in his TukTuk and set up most of our day trips. He even invited us and our friend Laurie (a coworker of Lindsay's that joined us for part of our trip) to his home for dinner with his family. His wife worked hard and they rolled out the red carpet for us and this was a highlight of our trip. We were served fresh (as in it was swimming in the ocean earlier that day) fish and a large assortment of curry dishes and the evening was wonderful! We have since recommended Jagath's services to friends and hope we can do the same for more people so that we can bless him as he blessed us!

Welcome to Sri Lanka, you better not have drugs with you! |
This was where we ate breakfast each morning at our hotel. |
One of the first places we visited was a turtle rescue farm. |
We rode an elephant! It was fun but not very comfortable! |
Our favorite spot on the Island! |
The beach even had monkeys! |
We drank coconut juice from fruit that were picked right off the tree and handed to us! |
It was refreshing and delicious! |
