Prague

After our day in Copenhagen we resumed our trip to central Europe.  First on the list was beautiful Prague!  Considered by many to be the most beautiful city in Europe, Joe was excited to return and show Lindsay the city for the very first time.  An added bonus is that an old friend of Joe's, Johannes, lives in Prague as he has just completed year 4 of 6 at the world-renowned medical school there.  Johannes picked us up from the airport and drove us to the place we were staying, then he took us to one of his favorite restaurants for a delicious meal and some long-overdue catching up.  The last time we saw Johannes was at our wedding and we were excited to see him again!

We spent the next day and a half walking around the city, taking a bus tour, and a boat tour.  There is so much to see and do, we definitely plan on returning for a long weekend next year!  Lindsay was excited to discover the land of her grandfather, and was even more excited because everywhere we went she was approached as if she were a local.  Throughout the entire three days people would approach her and speak Czech.  Nothing like this has ever happened to her and it was a lot of fun to experience!  We had two other amazing meals with our friend Johannes and we loved our time in Prague.  The public transportation is very easy to use and we look forward to returning!  One last highlight is the fact that Lindsay discovered a dessert of curled sweet bread that is cooked over a flame in spiral form and served from booths on the street. This is now officially one of her favorite desserts of all time!

We love Praha!

Joe has known Johannes since 2003 when he was on the student ministry staff at The Village
