Almost August...

Lins and I were invited to an Emory alumni event with the world-famous Marshall Embry this past saturday.  Go Roughriders!!!  FYI, there is a weird camera angle below causing my extreme fathead.

We went to Longview tonight for our date night and when we got to target there was an unattended motorized cart in the parking lot.  For those of you who don't know, they aren't supposed to leave the store.  Some moron, probably an out-of-state visitor, broke the rules and then left the vehicle out in the lot.  I decided to do the honorable thing and return the cart to the inside of the store.  Lins felt it was a photo opp...

Let's just say it took longer to get inside than it would have taken me to walk.  Remember, always do the right thing, even if it means a few more minutes in the 100+ degree heat.

We have been blessed with a great couple who have quickly become family, and we get the privilege of baby-sitting their beautiful 16-month old daughter Audrey.  She is adorable and awesome!!!

Finally, I want to apologize for being an unfaithful contributor.  Lins has definitely done the heavy lifting in terms of this blog, but I assure you I will be posting much more often now.  I will be posting some pictures of my trip to Serbia in the near future.  I just wanted to drop a message to say we are doing great, and leave these pictures for your enjoyment(Both of you who read this)...

"Dirty Mexico"

So, its been quite a vacation here in Acapulco: the horrific Mexico City airport and all of the "friendly" people there, the tropical storm, kids peeing on the sidewalk...what?!? Yeah, that's right...kids. peeing. on the sidewalk. We were taking a break from the hot sun, which is finally out, at the pool restaurant (The chips and salsa are great but the kamikaze birds just don't do it for us!) Anyway, we notice a little girl, about 6 or 7, stripping down to her tan lines and then undressing her little sister who was about 2. Well, they're going to dress in dry clothes right? Oh no. Grandma, sitting next to them and seeing the whole thing, does nothing. They stand around for a couple of minutes and then....the older girls cradles the arms of the younger one allowing her to squat right there on the sidewalk, about 2 feet from the pool and.....GAG ME!!!!!! right where we walked through minutes earlier. Needless to say, we took a different route in heading back to our chairs. Lindsay, as hot as it was, had crawling skin each time we entered the pool, which as few times as possible. I mean, everyone knows that there are 100 people who have peed in this pool in a 5-hour span but seeing it....well, I could puke right now.

Roaming Again..

We're in Acapulco for 10 days. It took a long time to get here...lets just say we are NEVER going to Mexico City again. Its raining...hard. We're going to sleep and hoping for sun tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, etc., etc....
